We ate out 3 times this weekend, because it was my Birthday weekend, and the first was a get-together with friends at an Italian place with amazing desserts (this cappuccino ice cream cake thing omg) then the second was just the two of us for brunch which maybe was the most date-like (I got cinnamon chip pancakes), followed by going home and playing a fun board game while our food settled and then snuggles, sex, napping, then later on dinner with my sons at the Mongolian Grill. I remain eternally grateful to my freakish metabolism for letting me do such things without fear of weight gain.
I spent most of this weekend having happy, affectionate time, at home and out, with my man...so I am not sure where a "date" began or ended, really. But it sure was really nice!
Wow, kind of surprised at the responses (or lack thereof). My wife and I go on quite a few dates but at least go on some rather nice dates every few months or so.
Many don't consider going out with a spouse a "date."
My husband and I dressed up and went out for a very nice and expensive multi-course dinner at a nice hotel on New Year's Eve, which is also our anniversary. We try to have a date every weekend, and that was the last "really nice" one.
Not really a date but it turned out to be a nice time together.....
One of my friends was in town on business and just happen to be staying at a nice hotel nearby where I Iive. We both tried to get a group to meet up at last minute but they couldn't make it and she admitted that she was a bit tired.. it was late. So instead, I cooked up her favorite dish (creamy chicken florentine with sundried tomatos over pasta) , bought some wine, and brought it up to her. We ate, had wine, watched TV, and had a good laugh. I love to cook and something fullfilling about a friend enjoying what you've created from scratch.
At the end of the night, we ended up kissing. It was wonderful but that was my cue that it was time to go. We've always been platonic with each other and we both admitted that neither of us were ready for that for various reasons. So we headed out for a smoke and said our goodbyes.
The next day, she was on her way out and asked me to stop by. Went to our local bar that we've both hung out at in the past, a cheered up a couple drinks to our wonderful friendship. She may not realize just how much that gesture meant to me..... all my close friends are special to me but this was a little more than that.
One final smoke outside while we waited for her Uber...gave me a nice big hug, kiss on the cheek and a "Thanks for feeding me and keeping me company. Cya later my love..." Off she went.
Best date I ever went on, was a ball game in Washington D.C. to see the Nationals. And Max Scherzer pitched a no hitter that day, first one I ever seen in person. Had such a great time, great company, great game. But at the end of the day she felt we made better friends, than being in a relationship. That one hurt, but I will never forget that date.
As far as last year or so, going to her house with pizza and playing card game go fish. No "action", just relaxed had fun.
Worst, fixed a water heater for a woman. When I got done I was tired, it was late, and I wanted to go home. She "took control". "Action", not great, I wanted a sandwich. lol
My best date was us getting cokes from Mc’Donalds and just sitting in his car talking. Nothing fancy. Just having fun and talking. I felt like he really listened. It was the best date ever.
