Remember DR. RUTH - Do you miss her?
I used to love to listen to Dr. Ruth Westheimer. Can't say I always agreed with her advice, but her totally perfunctory and nonplussed way of describing sexual techniques was so...well...clinically Germanic.
Her show made me laugh to the point that I sometimes cried. There will never be anything as funny.

YES. I loved the way a caller could go, "Dr. Ruth, I have a problem. I just had sex with my stepfather. It's okay, though, because he and my mom are separated right now. I'm a little concerned because he called me by somebody's name and it wasn't mine OR my mom's," and the first question Dr. Ruth would ask was, "Okay, well, did he wear a condom?"

I loved that way 1/2 the calls would end with:
"You try dat. Thank you for calling, bye-bye"

I like watching Talk Sex with Sue Johanson on the Oxygen channel. Also Dr. Drew's radio show. Both give out a lot of good information and advice to their call-in audience.

Dr. Drew's radio show is easily picked up when channel surfing. He is easy to listen to because he is professional and also makes a lot of sense.
Dr. Ruth, on the other hand, was downright funny and she made sense, too...but it was that DAMN ACCENT. It was great! It made for good fodder for imitation for weeks on end with my friends.... |
