Be Patient vs. Be Assertive vs. Just Give Up

My husband had a former female friend pursue him after telling her that he only considered her as a friend.

She gave him several hints.

She was also assertive.

She did not want to give up.

She was mad that he did not want to date her after he told her again that he only considered her a friend.

This all happened while we were dating as well as when we were a couple.

Generally speaking ... if body language is consistently favorable and the person is willing to engage in conversation then be patient. If the person's body language is sending mixed signals and the person is willing to engage in conversation then be a little assertive to move things in the right direction. If the person's body language is sending mixed signals and the person is unwilling to engage in conversation then give up, there is no genuine interest.
