I think it is great. He's clearly concerned about the well being of his son. Research studies have indicated that getting laid is good for a person's physiological and psychological well being.

What have you shown your son about successful relationships in your life?

I'm sensing you don't know him very well and are looking for some kind of one-size-fits-all wisdom to impart.

Why don’t you simply ask your son if he wants advice? You probably have no clue where to start or what might be relevant to his generation.

When my niece went off to college I told her while it’s fine to be a Christian, she also needs to be practical. She should go to the University clinic asap, get on birth control, and then grab a big handful of free condoms while she was there. She may intend to be a virgin, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I figured her parents wouldn’t tell her that.
