For the record I am 32 and happily married, but not wanting kids had a vasectomy. I know that is quite unusual for a man my age but I am curious, for women that are or around my age if you met an otherwise great guy you liked that had had one would you consider it a deal breaker, full stop?

It's not unusual. However, it's a shame that the ones who need it the most don't get one. The guys with 2 kids and getting 1/2 their check garnished by the local child support office.

If it's a single mom she probably won't care. But if you're dating a younger Woman with no kids there's a 50/50 chance she won't want to be bothered from the start. Remember with today's family court system women have everything to gain from having children and you (had) everything to lose. The fact that they'll have almost zero leverage over you could be a turn off. But it will help you automatically screen out almost all bad types so that is the silver lining there.

At your age, the women you date might be parents already. It's not weird at all for a 28- or 30-year-old to be a parent. As someone who already had a child I would have been fine with it, but before I'd had any children it would have been a dealbreaker.

If you were 20 or something it would be a little more shocking.

It would be a deal breaker for me because personally I want kids.

I wouldn’t care because I’m not interested in having kids. Why does it matter whether some would consider it a dealbreaker? Wouldn’t that just mean that you aren’t compatible?

Why is a "happily married man" wanting to know what single women want?

P.S. Yes, its a deal breaker

I didn't marry till 37, didn't have kids till 38 and 40. It would have been a dealbreaker for me.

Of course, just a matter of curiosity.

A deal-breaker? Seriously? You might have women beating down your door, lol!

My niece is barren. Her husband cared dearly for her. Sure wasn't a deal breaker for him. They adopted and got to travel to adopt the little one.

I agree with the poster who noted the reality of the court system.
