Ain't that the truth.
Divorce really brings out the "ugly" in some people. All the love is just POOF gone in an instant.

If the OP is indeed a real post, she needs to get over this ridiculous notion that she's better off with him than alone. He will suck her down into a hole so deep that she will never get out of, in spite of a good paying job. It isnt well paying when she's paying for 2 people, when she's afraid to buy a house because it could be liened, and she will never even have the opportunity to find someone else who can be a partner to her, not a leech. How blind can she be that she doesnt see he is an actor extraordinaire, and is playing her like a fiddle.

You need to have a heart to heart and give him a deadline. Tell him it doesn't matter what he does but he has to be working and you can't continue to keep working alone and stay in a relationship with him. Be as cordial as possible when you do this.

Good luck

If you divorce, will his child support debt become half yours due to community property laws?

I have a friend who is engaged with a ton of student loans. He is doing public service loan forgiveness, has a good government job with great benefits, and in a few years his loans will be forgiven. I don’t see why that is a detractor like this deadbeat’s issues. There are payment plans that don’t change if you get married and continue to file separately.

At the very least, he should be taking on almost all the chores and responsibilities in the household considering the OP is the sole earner.

Sadly, she may be past that point now.

OP, he is taking full advantage of you. I would check with a lawyer and see what would happen legally if you had to leave him? Then you need to put your foot down. He needs to make a change or risk losing you.

Then you need to stick to it.

You married a guy with insurmountable debt, due to back payments to support 4 kids by 4 different women? Did I get that right?

Why on earth did you do that?
