-couples who knew each other sometime from 13 years old to 19 years old (teenagers) or 20 years old to upwards (adults) do?

In my opinion, childhood friend couples have bonded for very long time and developed a friendship that can out perform anything that a teenager or adult can put together with a stranger. Most teenagers and adults have been hurt by relationships that they started either as teenagers or adults, and can never get that level of trust and understanding that those couples who knew each other since childhood put together.

My parents met when they were 13 and 11. Turbulent marriage and divorced in their 50s.

My parents met when she was 13 and he was going on 16. They married at 18/21, and for the next 12 years she enthusiastically and frequently cheated while he beat all of us.

I don't think they felt a stronger than average, enduring, storybook bond as after the divorce they literally only spoke I believe 6, maybe 8 times. After that he moved away and didn't want to see us kids so even those very infrequent, tense conversations between them stopped.

I do not believe your theory is true. People change a lot from childhood so it will depend. Plus there’s is a difference between just knowing someone since childhood and actually being close to them since childhood.

There are too many potentially confounding variables.
