Having other people around is a pain in the backside. Feeling a little bit lonely at times is a small price to pay for keeping absolute control over your own life and what you choose to do with it.
It's easy to avoid being the 35 year old guy in the club if you don't go to the club. God rest her soul, the only time my mother ever brought up the possibility of my being with someone was when she said 'you'll have to get yourself a girlfriend at some stage so you have someone to take to things.' I avoided that by deciding not to go to 'things' if I couldn't enjoy them by myself. So far, so good.
Never married or never in a relationship. I have two siblings who are in the never married but have several relationships until they are entering senior years. All older than 60 now.

The only problem is...I'm a loner. What am I to do when I go to the dentist and get a tooth pulled, or have a minor surgery, or have to drop my car off at the shop 10 miles away?
I have no one there to give me a ride, or help me. Or no moral support (outside of maybe church - though that is even tough to do as a loner).

Uber for the car repair and there are medical transportation companies that will, for a fee, drive you to and from medical appointments where you have to be sedated.
Do any of you men feel like you missed your boat? I feel like I missed my opportunities with good women for good.
