It's good you have options.

It is hell to live with an alcoholic.

I don't recommend it.

Find another friend to take over and turn her over to the new friend. If you have AA there, print out the resources for her. I don't think you have to apologize for not wanting to date a drunk.

Just make sure you don't get her pregnant.

That is the equivalent of 3 - 6 cans of American beer. Does not seem excessive tome.

Many people think of beer as a beverage.

I've known people that drink four or five beers a day and they still can function fine. You can't get sloppy falling down drunk on that, especially if you spread it out over the entire evening, but whatever. I couldn't drink that much beer on a daily basis just for the calorie sake alone. I'm trying to drop some weight and that's just too many calories to take in a day on top of the food you consume daily.

For the record, sloppy falling down drunk is not really the indicator of alcohol addiction.

I suppose that is probably true. I think in general the real hardcore alkies are probably more professional than that.

Until 6 weeks ago my wife drank 7-8 beers each day, or maybe 6 beers and a couple glasses of wine or other alcoholic drink. She's 63 and weighs 110 pounds on a 5'7" frame, so the calories in beer don't make you fat... if you don't eat. Her food intake was pretty minimal. I've known for a long time that she's an alcoholic but never said anything about it, because I know it wouldn't matter. She's stubborn too!

She never drank before or durning work and never drove if she had more than one drink, always after work, and on her days off, after 2 p.m. or so.

But 6 weeks ago she landed in the hospital with heart and lung problems. (She smoked too.) Leaving the hospital her doctor asked her how much she drank. "Three or four beers a day." He told her that someone of her size drinking three beers a day is an alcoholic. He said if she continues she won't live past a few months, but if she stops drinking and smoking she could still live to enjoy a reasonable retirement. She's had no booze and no cigs since then. (Neither have I, but I never smoked or drank much anyway.)

Just a little lead in.

While I love my wife and don't regret marrying her, I wouldn't recommend to anyone that they marry an alcoholic. That's my 2 cents worth. Good luck.

Is she worth the trouble? I mean how hot is she? From a scale of 1 - 10?

There is strong beer like a porter (about 7.5-8 % of alcohol)/
Then 1L = 0.5L bottle of sherry (15%).
2 bootle (0.5+0.5L) of sherry every evening or about 1 bottle (0,5L) of light vodka (35%) as equivalent dose is too much I think.
There are differences in the standards of Europe and America.

About 6-7 from 10 on my scale

I'd dump her. Alcoholics are a lot of trouble. I grew up with an alcoholic father. I stay away from drunks. They're usually narcissists too.
