It really comes down to their motivation as to whether they tell or not. If they have absolute proof (not just that somebody said so), and they want to help the other friend (not just cause drama), then absolutely - I think OP should tell.

If, however, it’s based on heresay and/or there is motivation to stir things up after all this ‘studying’, then - of course - my opinion would be no and - simply move on.

You should be able to tell by looking into a person's eyes. If you can't see anything, they're not for you anyway.

Some people only see what they want to see

I think most people genuinely want to know if their spouse or bf/gf is cheating. I know I sure would. But there’s a difference between rumors, suspicions and actual infidelity. Sometimes people may think they know a person or a situation better than they do. If OP knows factually (and has proof) this is happening (because she has ‘studied’ the guy lol) - then, by all means, why not tell the friend? Her friend’s heart is at risk - so why wouldn’t she?

Anecdotally, my best female friend just caught her boyfriend of four years active on Match. The green "on line now" dot gave him away. He's almost 60 years old.

So, mark him in the "caught" column.

I don't know. Since we never catch the people who don't get caught, how would we?

By the way, why just guys? Women cheat as much as men.

Doesnt she have to be logged in active on an account herself to see the green light?

She had an old inactive, hidden account that she hadn't use for a long time, an unpaid membership that let you view but not correspond when she unsubscribed those years ago. After she recovered her old pw, I guess it took her to an old page with old contacts and saw the "green dot".

A gut feeling or hunch can be a powerful, hard-to-explain thing.

"BUSTED".
