I have been on dating sites for ages, and I am in my early 30s. No one seems interested in replying to my messages. I am not fat and/or the best looking guy there is. I am average, and I only get messages from overweight girls.
So, give us a clue. What do your messages say?
I used to try to be polite but more and more lately, I just ignore them since they're usually so dull, uninteresting and just plain boring "Hi, how's your day going?".....
"Hey there'....."Hi, how are you?"....etc, etc, etc

The only messages, views, and "favorite'd you"s I get on POF are the message "Hi there " followed thereafter by a URL and a promise "I will show you everything there". The handles always end with four hexadecimal digits (like "a3fc"). Gone within an hour (reported as spam).
Easy to identify by picture, scantily clad women in their 20's-30's listed as in their 50's.
I go indepth when sending a message to show that I read their profile. I also talk about our common interests. I seen many of those fake profiles ADogNamedSam, so I definitely do not reply to any fakes. I even tried okcupid, weed out the fakes from real.
Their recent (I dunno, in the last year maybe ?) changes made it a wasteland for me, like my short foray into Bumble (one month). You can now only message women that have "liked" you, but finding out who those women ARE seems hard (I use the phone app, maybe the regular site is more robust).
It is so weird, both POF and OkC are free, but POF is rife with fraudulent accounts, not so with OkC. I have no explanation.
I think all dating sites are rife with fraudulent accounts.it is very easy to tell who is fraudulent and real unless someone stole their friends Facebook photos.

There's a little more to it than appearance OP. Both yours and theirs. You don't communicate with the overweight girls?
Why aren't you meeting people in person? Like participating in activities you enjoy or are interested in? You'll meet people with common interests that way in spite of how they look.
