If I were referring to tension in a group, it would mean that one of the group members is doing something that makes all the other members uncomfortable, or makes a difficult situation because of what that person is doing, and the other group members do not feel that they can speak up, or have a problem addressing it.

Sometimes i feel like throwing a desk at people. Grow up people. I find its the over confident people that make group work suck...especially when they have nothing to be confident about and just come off as arrogant. The attitude makes the whole process tense and uncomfortbale...and makes people want to throw desks.
