I haven't checked out the other thread, but I don't think I'd expect someone to come and check up on me if I were sick. I mean, what are they gonna do for me?

....Just checked the other thread...I remember reading it now. In isolation, her behavior doesn't look that bad. She does sound a little selfish, but I sort of wonder if you are, too.

I think both of you may have some incompatible values and this is just one more example of that.

If you were out with your girlfriend of two years and she suddenly left and began barfing, you wouldn't even look in on her?? You'd just continue your night out?

It's not even like she was far away. She was walking around IN the neighborhood.

I'd definitely be checking in on my OH even if it was just for a few mins and I'd want to be checked on. I'm amazed some people say this is selfish.

Mmm, I don't know. I think I'd tend to just want to be left alone, anyway. It would really depend on whether it was an isolated incident or part of a pattern of behavior. It does look like it's part of a pattern of neglect on her part. But I also wonder if our OP is a bit needy.

People who are being neglected become more needy. Maybe he wouldn't be needy if he had a girlfriend who acted like she cared? I'm just speculating.

Yeah, I would be miffed if my date didn't check up on me.

You can tell her that, but dating is the "interview" period, and she just gave you a peak at her personality. I would mention it, let it go, and keep an eye out for more red flags.

They've known each other for 6 years.

OP: If you hadn't gotten sick, is going to this porch fest with your gf and her friends something you would have enjoyed?

Oh. Well, if this were the first time in 6 years she acted like this, I would give her a pass.

If she normally acts like this, well..... that's who she is.
