In this vein, I'd say people with personality disorders. No matter how "successful" they may claim to be (narcissists, for ex.), upon closer scrutiny, the picture behind the bravado shows a very different reality, in many cases. They're losers trying to cover up for their poor decision-making, failed relationships on either a romantic or family or friendship level, perhaps a tendency to self-sabotage they may not be aware of, and other issues.
Being judgmental can contribute to all of that; they tend to write people off for frivolous reasons, who would be in an influential position to help them professionally. Judgmentalism and arrogance can undermine a career, or limit its success, and may turn off friends or loved ones.
