Oh, so now she doesn't even know her own mind, but you do?

And didn't he say she was mature? Not knowing what she wants isn't a sign of that.

Smh the desperation. I can smell it all through this thread.

She's 18, she's not supposed to know what she wants yet. I was a completely different person at 26 than I was at 18. Not too many 18 year olds with their whole future ahead of them want to be stepmom to someone else's kids, and I think it'd be selfish to want her to. She needs to go live her life.

Especially a kid with whom she could reasonably be enrolled in high school at the same time.

You're pushing middle age and trying to date someone who is a peer of your teenage daughter. Nope nope nope. Shut it down.

It was one of the most foolish things I have done, and it may very well have caused my chances with this amazing girl. It was honestly a mistake, but that doesn't change how I feel about this girl or my intentions with her.
If a picture on your phone causes "the end", you didnt have much of a relationship in the first place. This girl is only 18, she's still got years of growing into adulthood ahead of her. Leave her alone and let her do it.

Sounds like you still have some growing into adulthood to do, too.

Mod cut.

Color me skeptical but anything is possible. If I am to take OP at his word I’d suggest he move on and perhaps start dating in his own age group. There’s a huge difference between 18 and 35. Take your 14 year old daughter’s advice and see if you can find someone your own age. It is a little embarrassing for a 35 year old man to be so desperate over an 18 year old. She’s literally barely a woman.

And as others have pointed out she seems to want to move on. A 35 year old not respecting that deserves a visit from her father.
