Some people don't like their partner having simulated sex with someone else. It's still intimate on some level. It goes against their morals/ethics/comfort level. They feel the temptation is too great. As others have said, keeping things "strictly professional" in such situations sounds good in theory, but doesn't pan out that way in real life. Everyone thinks they won't fall prey to temptation. But 90% of us think we're above average drivers, too. Acting is not a common or traditional career, so just because this isn't a big deal to you, doesn't mean it isn't to other people.

Career choices end up being deal breakers for people all the time. Some women don't want men who have 80 hour a week work schedules. Some men want stay at home moms instead of women who work full time and put the kids in day care. I was in a relationship with someone who owned his own business, and the stress of that, and him often never being able to get out of town for a vacation or just generally take a break was one of the things that broke our relationship.

So you shouldn't think relationship friction because of careers is unusual.
