I feel really sad for people who think this way. Or really sad for people who think this way yet still seek a relationship. Why on earth someone would want a relationship with a person belonging to a class of people so totally irredeemable? It makes no sense to me at all.

It feels off and what you say may be the case. But it also feels off to me in that the OP chose to draw this intractable line in the sand here.
