So it sounds like for now things are stabilizing a little more.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!
Hey, that's great! *whew* Close call, no? I hope things work out well for you two.

Thanks! However, down the road 6-months to a year he could be places on another project that is just as bad as this last one (the switch his projects about every six months). So who knows, maybe by the time he goes on the next bad one, we might be at a point in our relationship that marriage is something we really want.

You want advice on marriage fraud? If you're trying to get an immigrant visa for a spouse there are plenty of things you'll have to answer and do, and there will be pointed questions as to why you got married. So yeah this isn't good.

Quite frankly the administrators here should report you to USCIS since they have your IP address (oh.... allegedly).

Highly involved in the emotional aspect of someone else’s circumstances
Not a basis for major life decisions
I like throwing people a life preserver instead of jumping in the water to save them

They haven't done anything. I'm certainly no fan of marriage fraud, but this response seems a bit much.

But I do know it's a big decision that I need to do more research on.
The fiscal part is your pledge to keep him off public assistance and/or reimburse the state should it come down to it. But then it is not the major burden people are trying to say it is. You would just be proving that you earn, or have the assets to cover 115% of the current poverty rate, presumably for a family of 2.

Now there are many types of love and coming out of pocket for a couple grand is just one expression of it. Unfortunately his having a good well paid position makes for suspicions that he would be paying you off to file a fraudulent family Visa petition. And those are the cases where they actually ask what side of the bed, brand of toothpaste type questions
