I’ve done this when I know damn well I don’t want to see the woman again. Women have typically offer to split when they know they aren’t interested in a second date in my experience. Perfectly fair to do.

Hmmm, you're definitely lacking that masculine energy. Sorry, couldn't resist.
In reply to the OP, I've always paid on the first date.

When I was dating, I ALWAYS offered to pay for my own meal. I just got so sick of the rhetoric, mostly online, of guys complaining that women just dated for free meals, and decided I want gonna be "that girl."
It had nothing to do with not being interested in a second date.

Yep. I can picture his face now though: The Man Who Decides I Don’t Want to Go Out Again Because I Paid Half. Ever see that look? Kind of disappointed, a little puzzled? It throws some men off, I do it anyway.
We’re about to get a slew of posts now with bitter exclamations of: “Equal Rights! You women need to pay up! Jokes on You!” Who are these men arguing with? There may be a percent of women represented occasionally who say they insist the man pay, and they will find that guy. Many men feel that need still. Intelligent, attractive men no less.
If a guy’s going to lead with a bitter attitude about “You’re damn right you’re paying half!” ...and other preconceived notions when I wasn’t having a problem paying, THAT’S what stops the second date! The attitude.
Seems fair to split on a first date, especially if she tells you she doesn’t want to go out again.
No, each party pays what they ordered, it makes dating much more relaxed and it doesn't inhibit you as a guy to initiate dating wtih women.
This whole story about "men refusing to go on another date due to woman paying/splitting" is a joke. No man would do this, unless he wasn't interested and this comes as a handy/lame excuse they can think of.

I hope you’re not referring to my post, because that’s not what I wrote.

It is not that men refuse to go on another date of a woman pays or goes Dutch. Usually, that is a foretelling sign that the woman isn’t interested and doesn’t want to feel like she owes the guy another date or something else because he paid. I would still ask a woman out on a second date if I was interested, if she paid her share on the first date but I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a yes since that gesture usually means no interest for her part.

And.....you'd be wrong.
