If you live in Mass., are you near Salem? I'm pretty sure there's tons of them there.

Thanks.... Salem is on the North Shore and I live a little west of Boston. Probably an hour's drive one way to Salem... definitely do-able. I did find a couple of websites for tarot readers in Salem.... Salem's Psychic Center... I am sure there are others in Salem. Then there's something like this guy in Swampscott... just a little south of Salem.
I'll think about it and I could do it... I'm fairly open-minded on this kind of stuff, but I also know there are a lot of charlatans out there, too.

All good points in your post, robyn. And, while I certainly don't intentionally talk down to her, if I were accused of doing that (and I have not been so accused... yet), I would probably have to plead guilty, as I know I can project such an image even when I'm not consciously trying to do it, just because that's what I'm really thinking on the inside. So I probably do need to make some conscious effort to avoid doing that. So kudos to you for pointing that out!
And thanks for those huggles.... I need all that I can get!!

Shuke- You really need to reconsider leaving your daughters with a person who is mentally ill. They need to learn normal or they don't have a chance in hades of having that for themselves as adults.
You might be biting off alot but you don't want to have abandonment issues and who knows what else as a result of the divorce.

These people look like they're in it just for the money. Don't know BUT that's what it looks like to me. That's okay and all but Salem has a lot of wannabes but there are also some out there that take this seriously and will not charge an arm/leg for it. (Not just Salem but other areas as well)
I mentioned Salem because of it's past and most people that live in Salem today are tarot readers, psychic, witchy, etc.
I also mentioned bookstores or metaphysical stores because that seems to be the area the good honest ones hang around.

Thanks, song... that's exactly why I axed how to go about finding one that's on the up-and-up.... I've never really used the tarot cards before, but I do consider myself open-minded enough that I would consider giving it a try. It does seem a bit counter-intuitive, though, that the legit ones would be doing it for little cost. I mean, I can see how the charlatans would be charging big bucks... because making money is what it's all about to them. But if one does this and is any good at it, I would think it's like anything else... why give it away for free? And there's the trick... finding the legit ones.

And the plot thickens........
Now I want my Tarot cards read!
Have never done anything like that but I'm certainly game. I guess it's a little scary too if you believe in it. Even if you don't, the psyche works in mysterious ways.
Hey Shuke! Go for it. We certainly won't be able to blame you for not doing everything possible to work things out to the best possible outcome.

Yes, I know, pirate girl. I'm struggling with that whole idea, too. Part of me thinks the best outcome for everyone would be for my wife to move out, find her own place, get a job, and just worry about supporting herself.... I could pay alimony for a while 'til she got on her feet. But in order to get to that end, I think legal fees and the whole process attendant to doing the guardian ad litem routine would just be cost prohibitive. The only way I could see that result coming about, as a practical matter, is if my wife were to be convinced to agree to it. And I don't think she's even thought of that as a possibility yet. And, really, I think she would be very challenged just to look after herself, let alone herself plus two or three kids.
The point is, though, there are practical limitations to what I may be able to achieve as an initial outcome. I could see her agreeing to let me have physical custody of our boy... because she doesn't like him, and he knows it... and he doesn't really like her, either. But the girls are too young to be deemed competent enough to make any decision on their own about all this, and I would be very surprised if she would easily agree to letting me have physical custody of all 3.
So the practical solution very well may be to let her have the girls, let me have the boy, and see what happens. And at some point the kids should be able to choose who they would prefer to live with... that may be some years down the road. But I don't have the resources for a prolonged custody battle... one way or the other, the initial custody is most likely to be determined by what we can agree to.
Yeah, that makes it a tough situation - for everyone.

When I was a kid there used to be a fortune teller who worked at White City, the amusement park down by the lake.
His rates were reasonable, and his advice always came true.
But somebody broke into the machine where he lived to steal the quarters, and a big chunk of his head broke off.
They glued it back, but after that, his fortunes never came true, and about half the time he would steal your quarter.
I have never found another one as good as him, but once in a while I get an outstanding fortune cookie at the Shanghai Gardens Vegetarian Chinese Restaurant.
