Actually, given that this is all really about continuation of the race, I won't be surprised if it does reduce to a formula like it reduces to the display on a peacocks feathers for peacocks.
We already know that what we find beautiful in people has to do with symmetry which is an indication your genetic structure has not been damaged by the environment. So either A. you have good genes that don't damage easily (the preferred case) or B. you haven't been exposed ot things that will damage your genes.
Turns out no matter what the race, physical beauty is related to symmetry in features.
Attraction is interesting stuff.
