Yes, but making it "fishes" was definitely Seuss-esque. As for a happy marriage...I read that Geisel (is that the spelling?) had a really weird marriage...possibly his wife abandoned him? I'm not sure. She was then estranged from their children for many years; that part I'm sure of.
And as for his feelings on various matters...he's dead so I doubt he's feeling much of anything. Except bliss, if you believe in that sort of thing.
But heck. It was a poem and it was fun so it's all good.

I liked these parts, too.

For we girls are so desperate,
We girls are so fat,
We have warts, we're small-chested,
We'll take any rat.
Oh, it's true, you may find
That the girl you reel in
Has fourteen baby-dads
Or a quadruple chin.

Here's my lame attempt. It's only 1 stanza.
I once went out with a girl.
I was giddy and went in a whirl.
I asked her what we should do.
She said, "Whatever, but not with you!"

OMG, I'm dyin'!!!
Sierra, I don't believe you for a minute. You write so well in general, there must be a poet in there somewhere.

JerZ, life must've killed the poet in me before she was born... Being bilingual (aka speechless... ) and bicultural doesn't help, either, but here we go!
In this fine quorum
of our dear forum
everybody is a talent
and some are even gallant.
Rhyme dictionary, have a little mercy
and help this poor poet get some gramercy!
