Cats. Nothing against dogs, but I'm more used to cats. I like how they will sit on your lap and curl up and purr. Also much less needy then dogs (though more moody!), quiet, and smell better. Can't wait to get my own, until then I only see my family's cats when I go home 2 or 3 times a year!

I am definitely a dog person, as I have loved dogs since I was a toddler and was introduced to my first doggie love. But now, I live with my boyfriend and we have "combined families," ie., his 2 cats and my dog.

What really makes my heart go pitter-patter is when I see my boyfriend napping with my dog, my two angels . And the other day, I overheard him saying to my dog (our dog now, I guess), "Who's the bestest dog in the whole wide world?"

Sigh.

And I truly love his cats now, as well. One big happy family!

Dogs. Definitely dogs. I love LOVE my dogs. I dont like cats. Never have, never will. Wife wanted a cat a few years ago I told her no way. Said that if she brings home a cat I'll bring home a Boa Constrictor. Still no cat in my home.

My dogs are thankfully all very clean and unsmelly creatures. The lab sheds a lot but we've not had to bathe him for several years. I think that we washed only once and that was because we made him swim in the river. He's odd for a lab because he doesn't like to swim, but great because we do live near a river. My boyfriend's old golden retriever would sneak away to swim in any body of water that she could find.

Of my two cats, one thinks that he's a dog and tries to be part of the dog pack. He doesn't care for the other cat.

I basically love all animals. Of fish and reptiles, I think that they are better left in the wild. Especially salt water fish and live corals. Birds are okay but messy and they are annoying in the morning.

Your wife is pretty tolerant. Pronouncements like that in MY house would mean a guy would find himself and his stuff on the front lawn.

My cats are here to stay.
