Lately black women have been on the opposite spectrum. They prefer to only date white men because alot of them have stated in interviews that a white man can provide a better life for them than a black man can. That is what I have seen on News shows and read in magazines. So don't kill the messenger.

I find that to be the opposite of what my friends and I believe. Of about 10 of us, I'm the only one who's dated outside my race. If you look at statistics, it doesn't seem to be the case. Most black women 42% are single because they don't want to date outside their race. However, the number of BM/WW couples outnumber WM/BW by double if not more. I don't doubt that there are Black women out their who only date outside their race, but I don't think it's a case where all of a sudden sudden we're running to the other side. Speaking for myself, I love black men. I've dated them all my life (in my 30's). I'm not marrying a white man because he's somehow better than Black men because he's not. He's just the man I fell in love with.

And no, I'm not shooting the messenger

I have personally seen a rise in the number of WM/BW couples. I asked on this forum a few months ago if anyone else had noticed this because I have heard BW talk years ago about how they would never date a "white boy" and now there is such a huge change. On average I see about 20-30 WM/BW couples a month. Just one to two years ago I would see maybe 1-2 couples a month. I was wondering about the change because I would only see BM/WW couples and rarely the other way around.

I think the bigger question is: Why do black men who date white women get so mad when they see black women dating white men?

This double standard annoys me to no end. I have no problem with people dating and marrying whomever they want. Unfortunately, many black men want to sample all colors of the rainbow while still having a "harem" of black women to choose from in case things don't work out with the other races. The same black man with a white woman on his arm will have the nerve to eyeball a black woman for going outside her race.

"How dare she date that (insert non-black) man? Doesn't she know she' s supposed to be at home alone or fighting over me? The nerve of her trying to find happiness."

Black men feel like they are in "demand" and it has gone to their heads. They hate when black women date interracially because it shifts the balance of power and makes things more even.

Unfortunately, many black women play into this by having a misplaced sense of loyalty to black men. I love the brothas but this is pure selfishness and it has got to stop!

Well, as a black guy, I honestly could careless if black women date interracially. I don't know about other black men, but I certainly won't have a problem with it.

My sister is married to a white man and has 3 kids together, and I see nothing wrong with it. As for me, I prefer to date interracially myself.

I don't understand why most sisters play into that role of being loyal. If black men date interracially, black women can too.

One was black, and one was Mexican. My last girlfriend, I thought we were the perfect match until she mentioned kids to me. She ended up breaking up with me because I told her what I felt about little animals. I have never dated any white girl, but would like to.

If you've never dated a white woman, I don't see how you can be so certain that you only want to date white women in the future.
