You come home and your 18 yo DD is wrapped in a towel after just hopping out of the shower and her boyfriend shows up up couple of minutes afterwards and they are hanging out, talking in her room(yes, no clothes)? Am I wrong in thinking that this just isn't right? I told her in a bitchy sort of way that she needs to get some clothes on and that its wrong and now she is irritated with me. Am I wrong here. I am PMSing here and she's lucky she didn't get more from me. UGH. Dammit!

it's your house, she is totally wrong. She needs to respect your rules or find her own place.

Well I mean did he show up as in he came to the door? She obviously didnt pre-plan being in a towel. But yes, I think you were right. He could at least wait for her to get dressed.

Nope, not okay if you're uncomfortable with it. I wouldn't be, either! The boyfriend would be asked to leave until she got dressed. Wow.

OMG my child would respect the rules of the house or go pay for their own rent. If they want to act like an adult than pay the price. That seem really disrespectful to you in your home. Better set up some rules...when our kids were young kids hung out here but there were some rules like the doors to rooms were open. If there were in the hot tub the light was on, etc... You have to talk it out and not make it a issue of wrong vs. right which doesn't make sense to most of them. Discuss it from a family standpoint of what is best for the whole family.

Is she going against house rules? If she is, then you have every right to grab the guy by the arm and walk him out of the room while informing your daughter that she better stay dressed from now on or his visits are through.

She wants to live at home? She needs to follow your rules. Simple.

The boyfriend would not have gotten near her room in this house. My house, my rules. Don't like um? Move out and pay your own bills.
