Default Why can't we be friends.....why can't we be friends......

lol.....I don't knwo what's up with me and all these wierd old songs today but.......anyway...

A few of my co-workers and I were debating today at lunch wether strait guys and girls can be JUST friends.....

I said that between the ages of 13 and 35ish........it's really really really really rare because of hormones. Either they both develop a crush or one or the other does....very rarley have I heard of a completley platonic relationship with no attractions or crushes ever within this age range.

40's and beyond is probably easier since you don't have crazy hormones bouncing all over the place.

Your opinions???

I dunno. I had several women friends when I was younger. However, I admit wanting to have the humpalumpadingdong with them, so I guess that doesn't count.

I think it's difficult. I've had many male friends, but eventually they all wanted the same thing. It's a shame because I really enjoyed my male friends until it got all weird and awkward.

Yeah, that's about it... Either both of them are not attracted to each other (the ideal case) or whoever is attracted keeps things under control. Then again, men are not known for wanting to hang out with women they find unattractive, which may eliminate option #1.

I don't think Nature likes straight men and women to be platonic...seems like it's against some type of biological urge...much as it doesn't allow us to break up after being lovers and "still remain friends".

I've always had more platonic male friends than anything else. Maybe I didn't realize what was going on. You think I've spent my whole life clueless?

Speaking solely for myself (therefore, for the entire male gender), I have a great deal of self-control, honor and ethics.

...but I'll STILL jump the bones of any female in a 3-mile radius at a moment's notice.
