Just for the record, in my observations some women confuse "loud and obnoxious" with "smart and together"...

The intention of the thread is about women who allow as little drama in their lives as possible - financially successful - her own stuff/toys, not emotionally bankrupt/jaded. That sort of thing.

I choose

I like a woman who has it together - but not if she is more together than I am

why?Probably because the heartbreaker of my life was hot, intelligent, cunning, and very self confident and while at first I liked that I myself had always considered myself hot, intelligent, cunning and a head on my shoulders but she wittled away to where I felt none of that to myself anymore

the passion of my life guitar, which I had never let anyone stand in the way of that before she said was a waste of a future and I stopped playing to satisfy her thoughts that I should find a better more monetary lucrative pursuit......a financial "future".

She always tried to make me "better" and "guide" me to be "better" and in the end she looked down on me like a puppy dog.

Not totally her fault, part of the blame lays on me for letting this happen but I just don't like a woman who "has it together" to the point she thinks she is superior.

Never again will I be submissive in a relationship...............it's called being Pu*** whooped.Nope never again

What does this have to do with the perception of being smart and the need for dumbing down...? Having "stuff/toys" can be a result of any number of things (inheritance, good divorce, winning the lottery, etc.) that don't necessarily have anything to do with smarts.

Just want you to know that vote was chosen by my husband. He took the first choice, that is why he chose me.

I dated a woman who, on the first date, said, "I think you're smarter than me, and that really bothers me."

So it cuts both way.

Because a woman can "dumb down" her achievements. To "dumb-down" does not always refer to ones "brains."

It more or less used in context by the two questions combined, whereas a man does or does not feel intimidated by the whole picture.

Know what I mean, jelly bean?

Oh. My Bad. I couldn't tell if you were dumbing it down or just being your usual self.
