All of my past relationships have been interracial, and I'm in a interracial marriage as well. I'm half white (mostly french) and half native american (Apache and a very specific Ute tribe). I've dated two Mexicans, one Black man, two White men, and tried it out with a White Mexican (half and half, but he looked JUST white), and a Pacific Islander/Italian mix.. They proved better as friendships.
-I always thought of myself as being most attracted to the Mexicans.
-Once you go Black, you CAN go back- I did!
-I am marrying a White man (and NO regrets!).
Life is funny eh?

Personally, I'm into Caucasian women, I don't understand why nowadays it's becoming so difficult to date someone of his own race&skin when it should be the most natural thing in the world, it's all "helter-skelter"...

And your name is Pigeonhole...............Maybe people don't want to date someone of their own race or whatever......maybe people see their race as simply human.

I don't know if you know who Garcelle Beauvais is but she's a black woman who's married to a white man and had twin boys and if she wasn't holding them, you'd never know they had any black in them. That bothers me, plus I maybe a little selfish but I'd like my child to look at least something like me. So my question to you is, how does it feel to have a child who looks very little like you. Please note, I know that you love your children regardless of what they look like, but I just wanted to ask the question.

Blonde haired, blue eyed children don't just come from interracial relationships. My youngest son was born blonde/blue. Both of his parents are definitely (light) brown skinned with dark hair and eyes, but he came out the way he came out. His older brother, meanwhile, was darker than both my wife and myself.

Way too much consideration for the parents and not enough for the kids. Anyway, that's another thread.
I think the reason I've been thinking about this alot lately is because I watch the show Jon and Kate plus 8. Asian man/White woman and all the kids look Asian. I've always wondered how she feels about that. To the person who says that most biracial kids have black features, I have to wonder if those are just the ones you notice. I have seen plenty of biracial kids that do not look black at all (that's why I posted the picture). As a matter of fact, I've met quite a few biracial adults that if they hadn't told me they were black I'd never known. I've always been one of those people that just knew that I could always spot another black person (I should say biracial - African American) but the truth is you honestly can't.
Willdufauve - Obviously I know that my kids will not be zebras (how George Jefferson ). I know that when/if I'm bless with children my main concern will be their health and well being. But right now, I do wonder.

It also depends on what you call "biracial." There are no actual white people in my immediate family, but both my wife and I are very mixed; we come from a long line of mixed people. But in this country mixed people are called black or African American. Most "biracial" people are usually a combination of the already mixed "black" parent and a white parent, so many of them are much more European than anything else. If a mixed person is so European in appearance that he or she barely looks as if they have African ancestry, chances are, their "black" parent is already a mixed person.

Only in the Good ol USA.
According to the One-Drop-Rule anybody who is White/Black is considered BLACK in this country.
