Who made up this stupid rule anyway? Some southern white people? Is it written in some lawbook somewhere? Is there any legal merit to this one drop rule?
There are some very white looking mulattos and I wouldn't consider them black unless they wanted to be considered black. And I don't think that the one drop rule holds anymore these days, but it's more a matter of what a person actually looks like, not what's in their geneology.

Agreed.
If they look more black they're considered black.

His sister, on the other hand, would look like she belongs in any black family. Nobody considers either sibling white, and the sister would not be considered "biracial" at first glance.

Haha! My cousin and his now ex-girlfriend (still a good friend of mine) kept telling me that since I dated a black guy, I'd be stuck.. I didn't want to prove them wrong on purpose, that relationship just didn't work out. It didn't make me want to stick with only black men, but it did open my eyes to the possibility of being in a relationship with one (when I was younger I couldn't ever picture myself dating a black man.. I dunno why, and now.. well when I was single, the pool only expanded for me).

That's the problem with some people in America, they're afraid their kids won't come out like they want.

I am attracted to all kinds of people, so I am basically an equal opportunity dater. A colleague of mine once put it well: Race is not a problem until race is a problem. Meaning what? That unless someone makes a big deal out of the racial differences, it's really not, imo, much more of a problem than anything else a couple might have to deal with. The key is honesty and not letting friends, family members, people who gawk at you, etc. become a problem for you. That piece of it is what it is. You deal with things together as they crop up, without becoming obsessed. And anyway love is stronger than all of that. Just my take on it.
