The title of this thread is misleading. It's not really about older women and younger men as much as it is about women wanting men who take care of themselves. We've all heard the stories of how men and women let themselves go after they get married. So it's natural for both men and women to be attracted to the person who takes care of themselves, especially when you compare them to the person at home. Men should be expected to exercise, stay in reasonably good shape, practice good hygiene, etc. But the metro guys go overboard. A guy should not have more beauty products than a woman. And you have to wonder just how shallow and narcissistic they are. Ever see the movie American Psycho? The main character is in great shape and has tons of beauty products. He looks like a walking catalog model. But as you can gather from the title, he wasn't all there.

Exactly. I like a good-looking guy as the next gal, but if he has more products than me and takes longer to get ready, that'd be a tad too much.

Great point Denny regarding the movie you mentioned. That movie is a huge exaggeration regarding his crimes; however, the guy was narcissistic and is common with certain groups of men. At first it is a turn on, then later I realize they have no soul or personality and it just halts any bond or connections.

ME:
Wakes up, hits ths shower, washes down real good, basic soap and shampoo. Works out daily, eats right, keeps things trimmed here and there. Takes a shower nightly before bed. brushes, flosses, etc.
Wears jeans and a T-shirt that shows some muscle tone, but not overdone, not afraid to put on carharts, levis, boots, but will, if forced wear a suit for special occassions. Get me hair cut at a regular hair place, no foo-foo products. ocasionally enjoy a day or two of beard growth.
Anything beyond the above for a guy is just plain freakin gay. Starting waxing your eye brows and using mutiple station facial products, shaving in places below the belt (trimmed is okay, but no shaving) I'm sorry to break it to you, you might want to check your sexual orientation.
My 02 cents.

Sorry, I'm with the Cowboy. There is absolutely no reason for a man to wax anything. I can understand trimming of eyebrows, but waxing....uh, no!

Oh man. Just had to do a quick comparison between my products and my wife's products. Luckily, she has more. I am not that into fashion or what I wear as Im basically a shorts and t-shirt man (although my shorts and t-shirts are mostly from Nordstrom and Macys). I do have the following products in my bathroom:
Clinique Clarifying cleanser #2
Clinique Dramatically different Moisturizing lotion
L'Occitane products - Lots of stuff
American Crew hair products - leave in conditioner, styling gel, daily shampoo, conditioner.
L'Oreal - shampoo and conditioner
Lots and lots of cologne and aftershave
L'Occitane - shower oil
Bath sponges, loofahs (sp)
Waterpiks, electric toothbrushes, different mouthwashes and toothpastes.
But this is just the basic stuff that all guys need right?

Nope.
All guys don't need that, and as a matter of fact, many women don't need all that either. When I run my fingers through my man's hair, I don't want to get stuck, or have to go wash the goo off. I'm a girl, and I don't even know what one does with "shower oil" - what is that?
I hope you have two bathrooms in your household, or are on different schedules. I would not want to have to wait for anyone to finish primping with an excess of 10 different beauty products.
I don't want to ever have a relationship with a man who knows what Clinique or L'Occitane even is - let alone using different sets of shampoo and conditioner.

Uhhh...too much stuff for a guy, IMO. My man has a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant, razor, toothbrush/paste and a couple of colognes. Any more than that and you might as well be a woman.

I'm gay and don't even wax my brows. I trim them but not wax ever.
