I think she is real upset and probably didn't mean everybody that is southern but just the people she knows. That is most likely what she means. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. She also might be young and unable to communicate as effectively or accurately.

I grew up in RURAL South Mississippi, as Southern as I can be, yet I'm nothing like what you described. What you're doing is overgeneralizing, and you sound pretty silly for doing so. And sensitivity is good because I'm more understanding towards others experiences/views and likable because of that.
