I'm anti hyphenating last names. When she got married, my sister changed her middle name to her maiden name and her last name to her husband's last name. That seems like a sensible compromise.

Mine would be a mouthful beginning with my maiden name...heaven forbid I marry someone with Smith as a last name lol
