Chewing your nails and spitting them on the carpet, with the loud "THHHP".

Chewing your nails when you have none left to chew to where you have one hand at your mouth and the other pushing it in so you can grab a sliver to spit out on the carpet.

Chewing your nails when you have none left to chew to where your teeth are GRINDING and you're making all kinds of sucking sounds.

Chewing your nails and picking it out of your mouth and flicking it off into the air, and eventually ends up on the carpet.

And doing all this in MY HOUSE, or at the theater, or at someone else's home, or in a restaurant........

I have an ex that had no concept of social grace. I could go on and on.

Ugh...I hate the thought of locking my dogs in the basement and listening to their incessant barking...they never have to be locked away and will definitely throw a fit...I can hardly wait

They are staying in a hotel but we will be at my home quite a bit...I guess I could send the pups to my neighbors house every now and then..or, his future MIL can start drinking early in the day or start popping benzodiazepams....

Well, back home people go out of their way to make guests comfortable (and you seem to be of this school of thought as well), but here normally guests play by the rules of the house and if they don't like them they don't stay there...

Yep, that's what I think...they could have told me a few months ago and I would have been happy to send the dogs with a friend or to be boarded...oh well...she will have to face her fears...

Wouldn't it be interesting if she smokes...?!

Well, if you wanna be the perfect hostess, why can't you board the dogs now? Or it takes reservations...
