Can you believe I told her I am really busy? She thinks I have an obligation to return her calls. I don't.
Look, I am not bragging on myself, but 100% of the women I meet think I am a good catch(Thank god for quality women). I know this particualr girl does as well and she is hard up for a good man to settle down with. Well that's not going to be me. It will be years before I get married IF I even do it.

Sounds a little crazy to me, a little out of touch. The odds are, if you just persevere with not talking to her, someone new will strike her fancy and she'll be off to stalk them.
I don't know what's happened in your past but you seem really cautious about this. But its been my experience that this is one of those band aid moments where the best thing to do is rip it off. Just tell her the truth. Right now, you are crossing bridges before you get to them (she's crazy, may make a scene etc.) but you don't really know this to be true. If it turns out to be true then you'll have to take it from there. But even that would be better than this.
No offense, but this seems to me to be one of those "man" things as well. I know some men who would rather get a root canal than have a talk with a woman about an issue. Trust me, you're making it harder on yourself by waiting.

I agree SandyCo. This is the type who hears what she wants to hear no matter what you say.

Sometimes it is harder than one might think to change their number. I shudder to think about my husband having to change his! Trying to contact all of his acquaintances and friends would be a logistical nightmare. And the banks, professional boards, etc all have that number.
BUT, my MIL would be flustered for a while if we changed it! Hmmmm...something to think about!
