My 1st name was quite by accident....I used a sign in that we used for many other places, not realizing that's how my name would show up.
About the 10th time I got called a "he" I changed it.

I think "Chowhound" spells it out pretty good. I surely wouldn't want to me any woman that gave herself a moniker like "Chowhound"

Had a friend in college who put poster on his wall "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!"

sometimes i am suprised when i find out the gender. in the immigration forum everyone sounded like angry men. most of them are bitter women. i referred to a poster as sir, and well SHE didnt take kindly to that.

but even if a poster used a name like sierra, i still would knot if that is a man or a woman. i know a guy named sierra (middle name pine[hippy parents]). it could be that a poster likes the sierra. or is from the cali sierras. who knows.

i dont preoccupt my time with a posters gender. or whether they are "hiding" it. i focus on their words.
It does not bother me either what gender they are. I agree with you on the immigration forum, your discription of them fit to a tee.
That is why I like it here, it does not cause my blood pressure to go up,
Lol
