I can relate because I start feeling weird in very large groups.

Even if I know some or all of the people in the group I STILL hate it. And I really hate crowds like at the Holidays. After a while I want to smack somebody and climb up on a display and yell will you people stop touching me. Which would really freak them out Im sure because it wasnt two minutes ago I was chatting with them in line. .
What can I say. Im a hard core introvert. I do not like noise and confusion.
Absolutely, I always strike up conversations with people I don't know. Most people are pretty friendly in response but I do get the ocassional weirded out look as though I've just invaded their personal space but that very rarely happens.
lol. I think people are pretty friendly in general too but I'm just too tired to make any efforts.

I can't remember any situation where I started a conversation with someone in line, but people talk to me all of the time. I sometimes feel that there's a sign on my back that say "Please talk to me" which is funny since I'm fairly introverted.
Being in a big group of people makes me twitchy but one on one I can talk to anybody and often do. .
If Im at the Doctors on in line at the grocery or in the waiting room at the garage or where ever I always end up having a nice chat with some interesting stranger. My husband would always ask me . Do you know that person. Noooo.
Do you talk to strangers or do you mind your parents and keep your distance.
"Mind your parents"? If you're a child, that's totally different.
I can talk to anyone. I enjoy it, and I learn a lot that way!
Yes. I talk to strangers. Or they start talking to me. As long as it's just casual B.S.. However, at a Borders or a Barnes and Noble, you might see the same people over and over, so it's not a big deal to talk to them.
My father used to talk to strangers. My mother is more reserved, but will still talk to them. They seem(ed) to have basic common sense about who they would speak to...you know, by "profiling"...ahem... which is what people mistakenly call "stereotyping." It served them well -- they never reeled in any "bad people" that I can recall.
