The only way I'd ever date a guy who lived in a shelter is if I lived in one, too.
I'm sure of the homeless guys you meet with girlfriends the girlfriends are probably either also homeless or in um, unique living situations themselves.
If I were already involved with a guy, and then he became homeless due to being laid off or whatever, then yes. I'm not going to kick someone to the curb when they're already suffering. Otherwise, no, of course.
Not all, but most, men in homeless shelters are bum losers. I've known two men who spent time living in a shelter, down on their luck, but kept up their regular lives until they got things together.
One guy I knew was roommates with a woman who suddenly kicked him out (I don't know the details). He wasn't prepared for it, didn't have much savings, so spent a month in a shelter until he could get an apartment. Still went to his job every day, the shelter staff even let him have use of an iron & ironing board. It was just a place to sleep and he moved on.
Another guy, a close friend of mine to this day, had some tough times after emigrating to the US. Graduated college, but couldn't find steady work and found himself out of money. He spent quite a few months living both in shelters and sleeping in parks. He met another woman who was also homeless at the time, they teamed up and got a place together, and got married!
Not all homeless shelter-dwellers are bums...some of them move on quickly and get their lives back.
O.K. Just curious! Some funny topics pop up on CD! I always walk away from the computer smiling!
It seems like most of us are ADD and have a smidgen of Tourette's so you never know what you'll get At the very least, you'll be smiling
