For a LONGGGGG time I wanted to hear it EVERYday for reassurance (cuz that's just in my nature) but I'm slowly learning to detach myself from that mentality and just read the persons actions. If their actions scream i love you then the words really arent necessary.
Mu husband and I say it all the time. We never hang up or leave the house without telling eachother I love you, we say it before we go to bed and when we get up and randomly throughout the day. You never know what will happen and if I drop dead chances are the last thing I said to him will be "I love you". My family is very very close and we all say I love you all the time too.
I wake up every morning to my husband touching my hair and face and telling me that he loves me. We continue to say it many times throughout the day. And that's pretty cool because we have known each other over 30 years and we spend all day, everyday together. He is my best friend.
I think it's best when he says "you know, I really like you". Now that's the best. People can still love each other after many years but not really like each other so much.
My DH hardly ever says that and so I don't either. I say it to my grand babies and my friends all the time. My parents always showed their love but didn't say that either. I need that in my life and have told my DH that but he says he just doesn't think of saying that. Sad that many things we want and need are free......
My husband and I have been together over 30 years, he makes my coffee & with cream & sugar and brings it to me every morning. We say I love you at least twice a day. I feel very fortunate to have him.
