I called mine Godzilla cuz he was big and could be very mean. Godzi, for short.

I didn't actually come up with it, though. One of my friends did. She came by the house to drop something off for me one day when I wasn't home and she said my SO stomped to the door with a mean look on his face "like Godzilla." The name later stuck.

I call my ex wife Marilyn because that is her name. I could think of many juvenile and disgusting names to call her but what purpose would it serve. Life is too short to cling to hatred of the past and poor choices.
She was a major back seat driver so when we got our drivers licenses renewed, we got a joint licence together !

I call mine "Oldman!" I called him that when we were married (to his face) and still call him that when I see him 20+years after we divorced. He acted like a old man when he was young and now he actually IS! We are still friends and he knows I say it with affection.

I don't have any derogatory nicknames for any of my ex-girlfriends, nor for my wife. I pity my wife, actually.

"Jerkwad" is the only "nickname" I came up with.

If I'm talking to my friends or family and some reference to him fits in the conversation, I just use his name.

Oh, wait! I lied! I just thought of the other name I have for him: Mr. Wrong Long Dong. (Trust me...sometimes even a long dong can be all wrong!)

Actually I call him a friend. We were together 10 years and had two beautiful daughters, we left on good terms and decided to just be friends, it works better for us that way. He lives on the other side of Canada now so maybe that helps a lot, but I have been remarried now for 7 years and I am comfortable.

I just hate causing stress where it does not have to be. I saw my sister have it out with her ex and I promised I would never do that to my girls. Why stress them over something that is not their fault, I would never want them to feel like they have to choose between me or their dad.

I just want to add, I am no saint, we have had our ups and downs in the beginning. But over the last 9 years being apart we worked it out an now know what suits us.
