A man should pursue women no more than 15 years younger. 15 is actually strectching it. 8-12 is more ideal. If the man is going to pursue a serious relationship with someone older, the age should be no more than 5 years. This is my philosophy. I stand by it. I approve of this message!

So what's your opinion on those that have gone out of the age range you deem to be right and they are in a serious relationship... and making it work better than 99.6% of all the other relationships out there?
IMO, it really depends on the two people involved and their maturity levels (and I don't mean age). If a young girl is looking for a sugar daddy... and if an older guy is looking for arm candy.. well of course those relationships aren't going to last. (I guess I can't comment on a cougar, since I've never been remotely interested in anyone younger than me.)

I agree. Whilst I think that there are situations where it can and does work, I think the percentage is small. I dated a guy 18 yrs older than me, Im 24, he's 42, and we got on great for a few weeks (still do as friends - he's a wonderful guy) until it became obvious just how much difference the age thing really does make: effort made, early nights/late nights, eating hours, bedroom habits etc. Im not saying it cant work, but I think it's rare that relationships with such big differences last forever.

I think it can be safe to say, with the lack of effort on most people's parts nowadays, that this could apply to almost any relationship, with age not a factor. If it takes effort most people aren't into it any more.
