Lets Count Our Blessings
presently, with all the gloom and doom in our world today, I thought it would be appropriate, to remind ourselves and others, this morning, of all the blessings we really do have, but sometimes dismiss them or forget them.
I'll start
I'm so happy I'm a woman and where I am today, for my job, for all the careers I've had...even now, my singleness...for the ability to be me.
I'm so very blessed in that I had a family take me into their home when I was five years old, for if it hadn't been for them, I'd be an empty lost soul
one of the truest & best experiences of my life was childbirth, and raising my son.
To have had all the opportunities which have been given me to travel so and see so much.
For my family and friends, without them, my life would probably be so different, so empty.
for the delightful women and men I've met on line, some of which have become true friends and advisors...
for life itself, and the experiences therein
to have known men in my lifetime who were good people, good family men, and true to themselves, therein being respectful of others
for all the bad that has befallen me, for if it hadn't been, I might not be nearly as strong
for the blessings of art, free will and inner spiritual strength and the right to express feelings freely.
for my boss, who at one time I really hated, b/c I didn't take the time to truly understand him....he is a very good man, who merely has faults like everyone of us do.
for the wonder of movies and special effects, for books and being able to get lost in them for a while...for music, which is so astoundingly beautiful.
and for the beauty of this country, and all it's natural wonders...
and for Rance and Sweden, the beginning of a very happy ending..which has enlightened, ever single one of us, that no matter what, there is still love, still a chance, all you have to do, is reach for it. Thank you guys
Creme

That's a wonderful post. We do have a lot to be thankful for.
I'm thankful...
that my parents immigrated to the US decades ago for there's far more poverty in the rest of the world these days.
for my children
for my health
that I was blessed with a strong will that has carried me through very dark days and helped me love and care for my kids
that I have a fruitful career during these times of uncertainty
that I have a large family who loves me eventhough they're very far
that my mother can walk without pain after a lifetime of suffering
for all the mistakes I've made and the lessons I've learned
for all the horror I've had to endure so that I may know what having peace (the true measure of happiness) actually feels like

I am thankful:
For America. I am angry at and critical of this country''s general direction, but I shudder to think of what I would be doing or where I would be if my grandfather had not come here illegally (please don't deport me!)
For health.
For my wonderful wife and children.
For my strong, resilient, wise, 80-year-old mom.
For giving me the opportunity to make enough money to maintain three households (I also support my mother and my in laws' family).
For the opportunity to raise my three boys and foist more alpha males on this Earth.
For my relatives at home in the Caribbean.
For the paternal instincts I developed in the absence of a father (he did not leave us; he died when I was weeks old).
For the opportunity to move from an abusive, repressed childhood to one of the best educational institutions anywhere, to a successful professional life.
For the opportunity to represent my country in international sports competition.
For the opportunity to travel around the world and meet some of this earth's movers and shakers, and some of its most creative, amazing artists.
For music, art and books.
For women. All ages, types, and ethnicities.
For my safe, vibrant, intellectual, diverse hometown in New Jersey.
For the education my children are receiving/have received. My 11 year-old is in his third year of Mandarin in his middle school.
For Barack Hussein Obama II, the best Presidential candidate we have right now, and for the direction in which I hope he and a Democratic Congress will take America.
For the declining significance of race in America.
That God (Allah, Yahweh, Olodumare) has allowed me to enjoy these blessings for almost half a century.
