I saw a typewriter at the swap meat on Sat! Hadn't seen one for ages. I got closer out of curiosity and the guy started telling me how great it was. It was in a very good shape indeed. Are they still being made? Looked almost new.

I love the click clack of a typewriter!! When we cleaned out my grandmothers home we came across her typewriter. My daughter begged me for it and she types away on it all the time!

I am not sure if they are still making them...they are great!

Did you see Polaroid film is no longer being made??

Really? Why would that be? Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing the cameras in the stores lately, either, but that doesn't mean much... I never see things I don't need.

I know I sound like a Scrooge, and I'm a little turned off by my tone myself, but does anyone feel the same? Anybody think back to holidays of your past and wonder why it's just not so enjoyable anymore? Anybody else out there who would pay big money just to be able to skip it this year?
Same here, I am also away from my family (friends too) and my son is grown. Xmas for me is when the whole family is together and their are lots of kids around. When the kids are all grown Christmas seems to dwindle. This year I saw no reason to even decorate or put up a tree. But I will. I think the older you get the less you enjoy the Holidays, especially if your life is somewhat not so enjoyable anymore or there is something missing in it. I also lost my best girlfriend to cancer this past July so I am missing her. In the end if you are not surrounded by people you love and who love you back the Holidays suck!

Yes, I saw it on the news yesterday. Polaroid was fun to play with as a kid and we played with it a bit in school for different mediums. Oh well, the end of an era.
