Hey all

I was just wondering about how people come up with their screen names. Some names are pretty obvious and others aren't so much.

Take Chowhound, for example, it's pretty straight forward I think. I'm a self proclaimed Foodie. I like to try new recipes and try to get a little more adventurous with different types of cuisines etc.

Some peoples names involve their families or friends or hobbies, stuff like that I suppose.

Does anyone care to reveal the story behind your moniker??

I have a chocolate lab mix. I told the woman at the shelter to "pass the chocolate over to me" when I walked in the door.

I almost chose "FoodWh*re" because I am a huge fan of anything culinary. Food Network is my porn.

Charolastra is the name of the group of friends in the film Y Tu Mama Tambien. While they have a list of "code rules" that I disagree with almost completely, I love the philosophy of life put forth from the film.

There really no rhyme or reason for mine, I guess I can be sassy when necessary.

Hey Chowhound! I also like to try new recipes...but as of Jan. 1rst, we are eating lots of veggies and chicken.
My screen name is pretty obvious, I think. I`m from the North, who moved to the South, therfore, I`m a yankee. Actually, I`m a damn yankee because I stayed. My screen name should really read: Damnyankee. lol...

This is my second screen name here at cd. I changed it from the first. (DUH)

Pikantari is the name my bf came up with for my favorite color, which is periwinkle.

When I see the color, I can hardly remember the real name anymore and pikantari is what pops out of my head....

Not a very great story, but it is what it is.
