Before I got married, I regularly walked around the house in the buff. Solar screens on the windows ensured no one could see inside in the daytime. I've been to nude beaches in Greece and a few nudist campgrounds here in the USA. My wife hates her body since it's been a source of pain and insult through about 30 years of her life. Her 83 year old father-in-law is staying with us so we can care for him. Now I only go in the buff in the bedroom and bathroom.
His reaction may not have been about your physical appearance. It may have been something left over from how he was raised. I wish more people would get over their adversion to nudity. Going to a beach without clothing feels so much better than having a swimsuit weighing you down when you get out the water. Oh well, hopefully things will change more and more with time.
It's your body, and you should conduct yourself in a way that makes you feel comfortable. If you not comfortable being naked then so be it, but you should not try to impose your comfort zone on others. JMHO
I'm not an exhibitionist by any means, but I'm comfortable with my body. I work out and eat healthy foods, so if my windows are blocked, than I'm comfortable walking around naked, but I don't do it just for the sake of it when I'm alone (now when the SO is here that is another story!).

Well I don't do it just for the sake of it...really I don't walk around in the buff much at all, other than when I am with someone. Shoot, my current fella totally loves my nekidness.

I find this attitude wrong on both accounts.
1. It feels good no matter if anybody's around or not.
2. The shape of one's body has absolutely no bearing.
And I notice when the subject comes up many start talking about their shape, exercise routine, eating habits, etc... That's not the point. It's not a friggin' contest! Just let your hair down.
It sounds like he must of had some kind of negative experience with nakedness. Who knows? I on the other hand have no problem with it. It's just a body and we all have the same parts although shaped a little differently.
