Default Life changes...

Anyone else around who feels like selling it all, quitting your job and taking off to another life? My husband and I talk about it all the time...just taking the kids out of school and living a slower paced life without all of the distractions...

What would have to happen for you to do it?

I'd have to win the lottery.

We would take the kids out of school buy a camper and just drive all over to different campsites and stay a while. They even have jobs for people who do that at certain campsites(I did research, lol). So basicly I just want to become a gypsy. I know the kids would love it.

It seems like life would be a hell of alot easier, doesn't it?? I'm not so sure about having to live in a camper/RV...I am a bit claustrophobic

Yeah... I was seriously considering it in summer of '07, but I've done that number already. Couldn't do it again. Half-boiled, tired, and no longer a spring chicken... I mean, I don't have the energy to start from scratch again. Otherwise, should I win the Powerball, I might stop by to say "farewell"... or I might not!

Yes, life is the easiest when you have absolutely nothing to lose.

I love to camp but I know it's not for everyone. I would only use the RV to sleep in and get dressed in unless weather makes me stay inside. But, yes, just sell everything and live off grid, I'd totally love it.

Are you going to start singing 'Me and Bobby Mcgee'??

But seriously, you are right, as usual!

Would have to just DO it. The economy would have to be good. My parents did that. Father was 48 years old, mother 37. Lived in Chicago and saved for a 3 month trip to Europe and returned to the US by way of NYC and stayed there (NY was their goal). It was in the 50s, and the economy was great. My husband and I did that. We took a trip to MN loved it, he interviewed for a job, got it immediately and we moved!

On a smaller scale, hubby wanted horses and the country, so we moved an hour away from the Twin Cities and lived in the country for 17 years. I was a big city person, never thought I'd care about living in the country, but soon came to love it.

I forgot to answer that. Hmmm, all I need is for my husband to say lets do it and I'd be game. I doubt he would ever be game for something like this, though
