I've been clean shaven for most of my life, but 10-12 years ago I grew a full beard for a few months. I'm an old fart, balding (some might just say bald), pudgy around the middle, etc. But I was shooting a wedding back then and a little kid, probably 5 years old, kept following me around. He finally tugged on my pant leg, and when I stopped to acknowledge him he simply said, "You look cool." That was almost enough to convince me to keep the beard. Had he been an adult female I'd probably still have the darn beard. But I shaved it, and I'm still waiting for someone else to stop me from my busy day to tell me I look "cool",

Here in Sydney Australia, being one of the most gay cities on the planet facial hair on men is a sign of being gay. Pretty much no guys here have facial hair unless they are gay. Last year when we were in the US, we were very amused to find that the fashion for men was to sport the exact same look found in gay bars here and it was supposed to be macho. Little do they know that were they in Australia people would laugh if they said they were straight.
So I can't take any facial hair seriously, it just looks gay to me! I don't mind some light stubble on my boyfriend once in a while but a goatee makes me think of some dude in a leather vest

I refuse to shave my arms, as many women do now.
This is off-topic.... but I wonder who decided women should shave their legs . For thousands of years, women had hair on their legs and the human race still managed to procreate .

Actually women were removing all of their body hair (including pubic hair) for thousands of years. The Egyptians, ancient Greeks and Romans did it and the women were completely hairless like they are now. Razors have been found that are 30 000 years old. So the human race has been doing this since forever! And only during Queen Victoria it was forbidden for women to remove their pubic hair (probably has something to do with the prudish attitude).
The ancients even made depilatory creams and waxed as well.
