Because I am friends with guys that stay in shape and work out to varrying degrees I just assumed all women find the body building type attractive. I work out and lift but only because I enjoy being athletic not to build bulk. My wife voiced concern and asked me if I was going to look like those freaks that compete one day. I'm friends with some of those freaks as she put it but was actually very surprised. Are most women like this? I mean even the guys that bulk up don't look like they do on stage during competition, they achieve that look by dehydrating the week before the meet and working out before they go out for judging. She asked this when we were younger not like yesterday.

I personally do not find the big body building type guy attractive, actually I find them pretty gross. Don't get me wrong, I like a guy who is in shape. I think the Paul Walker type is perfect.

Default Bodybuilders

My personal opinion about male bodybuilders is this:
They are doing this to impress other men and not
women. I have spoken to many women about
male bodybuilders and the overall consensus is that
women don't like the over exaggerated muscles.
It's gross. Men, however, love to look at the muscles
that other men have. Gentlemen....don't go crazy
with the muscles! Lean and having a 6 pack is one
thing, but the nasty bulging vein popping stuff is nasty.
Yuk.

Your wife is not alone. I don't care for "overdone" anything whether it's guys or women's muscles, too much make-up, too much plastic surgery, or freakishly large boobs on a woman. I can't understand why people go to such extremes to look "freakish".

There is a difference between muscular and body builder. I think body builders are unattractive, it's too much. A guy who is toned or muscular is way more attractive. (Slightly overweight is good, too)

You know, I stay in decent shape and stay at my fighting weight. But I know guys who really get wrapped up in that stuff, working out a couple of hours a day. I always wonder, "My God, how do you make the time for it?" Of course, they probably think the same thing about my writing and sailing.

A. Most people don't realize that the guys all oiled up and veins a poppin on every body builder/ fitness mag don't look like that constantly.
C. These guys ooze arrogance, and are really obsessed with their sport.
B. Believe it or not a large percentage are.....GAY!
