That's why I tend to take compliments from women more to heart/seriously. I find that women are much more critical of other women then men are, so when I receive a compliment from a woman, I'm on cloud 9!
Jealousy is a natural human emotion / feeling. Everyone gets it, its nothing to be ashamed of.
Becomes a problem when it gets excessive, like alot of things everything in moderation.
Lady's, when you see a woman on stage or in the limelight why do you feel the need to criticize and belittle her when is obvious that shes on stage or got the hott boyfriend becasue she is genuinely tallented or attractive??

I don't get jealous about it. Why should I? I've got my own talents, and positives about me...
I tend to get more angry than jealous about things. For instance, the skanky waitress at the Cheesecake Factory, two years ago who kept touching my (then) fiance's shoulder, and completely ignored me (top off drink, etc). I was angry because it was very disrespectful of her. I hate that in people.
Why would you get angry? I think it's hillarious when something like that happens. Of course, I love any opportunity to tease my SO about something so maybe I'm twisted. On our first date, he told the server that I thought he (the server) was cute - he wasn't, by the way. I laughed and knew right then he was a keeper.
As several have pointed out, jealousy is not a female characteristic. If you are happy with your life, you will not care who is in the spotlight.
