My girl thought that I wanted to feel needed and to take care of someone else, because, as her father and BILs told her, that's what all men want.
I told her, 'No, I don't need to take care of someone else, I want somebody that will compliment me, in turn that will make me want to care for them". My validation isn't based on taking care of somebody.
And the thread about 2 girls, 1 guy made inspired this thread. She swears that all dudes really want that, and if they got the chance they would. From what I read, not all don't She says I surprise her how much different I am from other boyfriends she's had. I don't think I'm different, but I tell her she can't assume that all guys think with their dick.
I just think she's used to dealing with 'typical' guys. I have a lot of things that I can say are common in most guys, but she definitely had to throw that typical crap out the window.
Do any of you contrast stereotypes associated with your gender?
- not catty
- not competitive
- don't talk much
- can't stand the bubbly, perky, giggling types
- not asking questions of the sort of "am I fat?" or "do you love me?"
- never had biological clock ticking or was baby-crazy
- don't feel the need to "take care"
- have no desire to drag a man shopping since it’s no fun at all; prefer doing any shopping alone anyway
- like my space (as a matter of fact I was trying to find a way of getting my ex out of the house once in a blue moon)
I am a man who does not like to watch America's 2 favorite sports the NBA and the NFL. Men in this country who do not like those 2 sports are labeled as either nerds or homosexuals. I am not a homosexual so there for I fall under the nerd category.

Thank God for men like you!
Oh, I just thought of something. I'm a savvy shopper and very organized financially. Oh, yeah, I do my own taxes, too. Unless something extraordinary bad happens, you won't see me in debt. Never carried a balance on a credit card, ever. It's been always a struggle stopping husbands making frivolous purchases, not myself.
yes
I like to dance
I don't like hunting
I'm not all that interested in "big toys" cars, boats, snowmachines etc
don't really like most action movies
I'm kind of emotional
then again some gender stereotypes definitely apply

Well my friend, unbeknownst to I must be the biggest nerd/homo (don't get any ideas artsy) because I only watch MLB and car racing.
