People will spend vast effort/money to rescue strangers and even simple animals in trouble. Though on the other side people tolerate treating others as disposable. The things that drive each and everyone of us have the same roots in our makeup. There are mindless behaviors but even the most "sheep" like person will show individuality if you look beyond the surface.

Not to mention that it is amusing how if you ask anyone whether they believe they are better than the common crowd, they will instantly lay claim to being so. Sorry, there are not too many that fall outside the standard. Including those that find a feeling of superiority/uniqueness by doing so. "Sheeple" indeed, using a phrase pioneered by others to put distance between you and the countless billions. That are probably more like you than you would ever wish to know about. After all, if you are one in a million, that would imply that 8,000 people are just like you.
No no no! I'm a special snowflake!

Society has become far too materialistic (disgustingly so) for my liking. People are so judgmental that it makes me sick, even reading the posts by the many know-it-all armchair psychologists in this forum.

Men are pussywhipped versions of their former selves, while women are nothing but a bunch of clones with standards that are way too high. Both sexes are mindless shills to popular culture; which is clearly aimed at deflecting people's attention from the bigger picture.

Politicians? None of them care and all of them are in the pockets of corporate interests. We live in an era in which our votes are worthless and corporations have more power than the people. Democracy is nothing but an empty lie and a way of making common folk believe that their vote actually makes a difference. The US itself seems to be taking 1,000,000 steps backwards in bringing religion and god back into politics and selling off its freedoms to corporate interests, while its people blindly accept what's going on because at least it isn't "socialism" (LOL).

No form of weakness or difference is tolerated in today's society. You cannot really be yourself in a world that wants to mold you into being what it wants you to be. People have become even more cold and heartless than ever before.

Honestly, I would rather choose a relatively painless death than spend another day in the year 2010 and beyond. The world has well and truly gone to **** and I wish that I were dead so that I wouldn't have to spend another day living and breathing in a world that I will never belong in.
What is stopping you? You have control over your own life, so end it if you have that much of a problem.

While I somewhat agree, why worry about what others think? Why care if you are not accepted in "normal" society. Make your own way, and try to have some fun.

If all people think about is doom and gloom of society, problems, etc., then life might be better by jumping off a bridge.

Lighten up.

I'm guessing they think about it all because they care. Caring about humanity is not so bad, is it? Even at the expense of one's own happiness...

Caring about humanity is not bad. Obsessing about problems you have no control over until one wants to end his/her life is NOT good.

Not at the expense of my happiness.

I personally wish I could do something to help humanity... you know?
change the system so we don't need currency and all work towards the greater good?

Gotta love politicians who do just that, right?

People as a whole really do suck. I like to think it's just our leaders who make society so crappy, but who puts those leaders into power? I love humanity, but it's so hard sometimes.
